What information will I need to get power to my property ?

Other than your contact details, there are several pieces of information that you will require to get a power service installed to your property.

  • Property address. This is the address of the property where you would like the service installed.
  • Lot or Deposited Plan (DP) number. If you don’t have an address yet, then a Lot or DP number will be fine.
  • Pole number of the closest power pole. If you can see a power pole nearby, there will be a pole number on that. Take that number down or better still, take a photo of it for reference.
  • What are you going to be powering?  We need to know if this is for a residential dwelling or a commercial operation. This will have an impact on the design of your power requirements.

How long does it take to get connected?

How long the install will take will depend on the complexity and the amount of work required. Your project manager will be able to provide this information at the time of quoting.

 

Can any electrician complete the work?

No. Only network-approved contractors can connect your service to the power network. Each network provider has a set of pre-approved contractors that can work on their networks. We can assist you with this.

An electrician will be required to complete electrical work from the meter box and into your property or building.

 

I'm considering building a new home, but want to understand the costs of getting services installed before committing.

This is a very common question and we are happy to provide an estimate.

We will require some information such as the address or Lot/DP number where the service is to be installed, the pole number of the closest power pole to your property and what the intended use of the power is for.

Based on that information, we will provide you with an estimate to use for your budgeting.

We know from experience that the consenting process can take a significant amount of time. Standards and regulations may have changed during this time.

Once you get to the stage where you want to start your project, before we begin any work, you will need to approve a formal quote from us. Simply give us a call and provide the estimate details we gave you so we can fast track the quote.
