If you’re installing your own solar generation system, or other form of distributed generation, and want to connect to our network, you need to let us know so that we can ensure all the safety angles are covered.

We’re now allowing export of single-phase connections up to 10kW, increasing the limit on how much solar power you can export back to the grid, subject to any location specific constraints.

To begin the connection process, you can either call us directly on 0800 80 80 39 to talk things through or download a solar / DG connection application form via the link below and send it through to us at enquiries@scanpower.co.nz. Alternatively, your electrician / installer is welcome to liaise with us directly on your behalf.

We aim to approve connection requests up to 10kW within ten working days of receipt – this service is free of charge.

We encourage customers looking to connect systems larger than 10kW to contact us directly in the first instance to discuss the specifics of your project and your particular needs.
